Free Flight
A few months ago I received an assignment to create a painting in a hallway at an elderly home. One of the employees was very enthusiastic about one particular bird I created. His request for a large painting of his own to decorate
the living room was gratefully accepted.

Art Flight
Here the assignment was to make a painting at a wall in the hallway of an elderly home. My goal was to produce something that elderly people could recognize and feel comfortable with. I also wanted the design to mix with the beautiful
garden that could be viewed through the windows in this hallway.
At first I started with birds and a little girl with a balloon. From this I designed and redesigned and I ended up with a bird flight through art history. A wink to our great examples.
From left to right, Seurat, Kandinsky, Picasso, Mondriaan, Hopper, Pollack, Escher and Dick Bruna. At the end there is my own bird that looks back at history.

Drawings
For a few months now I have a little book where I try to make drawing in it every day. It is a real trial and error book. Here are some drawings that I like most.

Demonio Lagarto
Demonio Lagarto (Devil Lizard) is an animal that I have made up for an intake assignment for the School of Arts in Utrecht. The Lagarto is a reptile/mammal-alien that lives in the entree of caves beneath the ground on a different planet. In here they lay motion still on the ceiling waiting for something eatable. I have also modeled his head in clay and I have written their character skills and their part in a story synopsis.
